Children

I am absolutely thrilled with Luccarelli & Barrese Orthodontics. The experience of both the application of my daughter’s braces and follow-up appointments could not be better. Both dentists have been friendly, patient, professional, and terrific with kids. And at our last visit, Dr. Luccarelli fixed an issue with my teeth that had been bothering me for years. It made a world of difference, and I am so happy. The entire staff is friendly and professional, the office is clean, and I have never had to wait very long (if at all ) for an appointment. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

The ideal age for seeing an orthodontist for the first time is seven years of age. At this age, children have a mix of adult and baby teeth, but there will be enough adult teeth that the orthodontist will be able to determine if significant problems are present.

Signs Your Child May Need Braces

Your child may need braces if he or she has initial indications of malocclusion including:
Braces may be useful in cases where children’s teeth erupt in an unusual way or cause displacement of the permanent tooth. During your child’s regularly scheduled visits to our Mineola dentistry practice, our dentists will look for any signs of malocclusion and discuss future and current orthodontic options with you as needed.
