The ideal age for seeing an orthodontist for the first time is seven years of age. At this age, children have a mix of adult and baby teeth, but there will be enough adult teeth that the orthodontist will be able to determine if significant problems are present.

Early Intervention

Early intervention is suggested when a child has orthodontic problems that will require more than braces as a teen to correct. In this situation, the child will wear braces twice: once as a younger child and once as a teen. The benefits of early intervention include:

Braces may be useful in cases where children’s teeth erupt in an unusual way or cause displacement of the permanent tooth. Dr Lucarelli is one of the best orthodontist in Long Island. The staff is amazing. The office is very clean. They are well organized and very accommodating. They are highly recommended. He treated both of my children and they both have a great smile. He is very thorough. He explained everything to my children from beginning thru end of the treatment. The absolute best!!! Perfectionists. Both Dr. Luccarelli and Dr. Barrese are truly passionate about helping people achieve a perfect smile. I did invisalign with them as an adult and when it is my kids' turns for braces, I will be bringing them here as well. Trust them 100%.

The office is run incredibly well especially with respect to covid protocols and the entire support staff is friendly and excellent as well.

Where do I begin? My experience with the staff has been nothing short of phenomenal! My son just completed his orthodontic treatment and we couldn't be happier! Dr. Luccarelli and Dr. Barrese made the entire process ridiculously easy from beginning to end. They are affordable, professional, efficient, super friendly, and most importantly THEY CARE ABOUT YOU!
