Best Candidates For Dentofacial Orthopedics
One way to guide the development of the facial bones is dentofacial orthopedics. There might be visible asymmetry in which the teeth or jaws are positioned as early as six or seven years old. These issues could lead to trouble breathing, chewing, speaking, or pushed-out teeth. While their bones are still developing, kids are great candidates for procedures in dentofacial orthopedics so their jaw can be adjusted and aligned before it turns into a larger issue to fix.
What To Expect
Following a comprehensive evaluation of your child’s face, including looking for any misalignments or abnormalities in their jaw and teeth, we will create a customized treatment program. Based on their condition, their therapy might or might not use orthodontics. Luccarelli & Barrese Orthodontics provides various orthodontic treatments, and if it is needed for your child’s therapy, we will go over each option to see which is best. A member of our staff will also show you and your child ways to correctly look after the appliance, and also answer any questions that you might have about the therapy.
FOLLOW-UP
As soon as your child has their treatment program established, regular appointments will be needed to analyze their improvement through a record of the tooth alignment and jaw movement. These office visits also permit our team to make modifications to their treatment to make sure it is fitting comfortably. In the event the device is missing or not working correctly, please contact our office to get an urgent appointment.
